Stay on Fire

In Matthew 20 we read a very interesting story.  Jesus tells of a land owner that goes out n the morning to find workers in the market place.. he agrees to pay them a day's wage and takes them in to work in his fields for the day.  As the day goes on the landowner goes out several times during the day and hires more men... also agreed in a day's wage.  At the end of a hard day's work... every worker got the same amount of money, whether he worked all day or simply for a short while.
Jesus compared this to the Kingdom of God.  Now to us this might seem unfair... but we work according to worldly terms.  We need to understand that nothing we do is by works but by grace.  No matter how hard we work or how much we do... we cannot deserve anything God has to give.

Now you  might ask why go through all the trouble?  The question is why not.  This is what separates Christianity from anything else in this life.  You are not a Christian for the benefits it carries or the good you can get out of it... instead it is a love relationship between you and God.  It is where we realize that God gave us everything we have, our every breath... just because He loves us.  And so we cannot but feel the need to share this passion with the world and treat others as Christ has treated us.

Our focus is on things above and not on things in this world.  It is high time we get back to our first love and be Christians not because we benefit from it but because this passion and love God has placed in us and bestowed upon us, cannot be kept at bay.
