Trust His Promises

35 That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.” 36 Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. 37 A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped.38 Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”
39 He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.
40 He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”
41 They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”

Read this story closely!  Firstly... there were other boats besides the one Jesus was in.  When the storm arose we read that the disciples woke Jesus telling Him they are about to die... they didn't tell Him there was a storm.  This is the critical part because in the beginning of this verse Jesus said: "Let us go over to the other side."  He never said there won't be a storm during the trip but He clearly stated that they would survive the journey.

As Christians we believe that nothing will go wrong as long as Jesus is in our boat.  Problem is when troubles hit we then loose faith because our expectations weren't met!  But God never said that there won't be any problems... He did state however that He makes everything work together for our good.

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

This is God's promise towards us.  Believe and trust His words!  Keep Faith!!
