Sitting in a theater and looking at a performance is something that is listed as a must do during anyone's life time. I believe most of you have seen this already. On stage the performance is brilliant. The actors has already become one with their lines. The audience is living themselves into the story being told and everything looks perfect. What we don't see however, is that there is a "behind the scenes". Behind those curtains the covers the back and sides of the stage, are people, frantically running around and improvising to make what is on stage, look perfect. We never see the people behind the production, neither do we give them a standing ovation all thought they are critical to a successful show.
1 Samuel 16:7 "But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”The point I want to make is this: as humans we look at actions. We look at what we can see. Our minds take in the information, processes it and then after analyzing, we have a conclusion on who and how to judge. But God isn't interested in man's actions so how can we? See if God looks at the heart and we judge a righteous person just because we don't like their attitude... aren't we going in against God's righteous and chosen?
Psalm 105:15 "saying, “Touch not my anointed ones,do my prophets no harm!”I am not trying to rebuke or condemn. I am trying to warn! I always told myself that I am going to ignore smokers since they made the decision. Soon I realized that that was simply under my personal ethics and that to the world I am still looking rude while carrying the title son of God! Just like we tend to stay angry at people that did us harm. Now whether they came back to apologize or not... they might have turned to God even if they were atheists and we don't know about it. We need to forgive!
Just like backstage of a performance, we do not know what is people's circumstances and we certainly do not know their heart behind their actions. We are also sinners, saved by a God through mercy and grace... not by merit! Infact, if we were to fight for what is rightfully our... we would all be in hell before sunset. We have never had and also will never have, the right to judge or act funny towards any one ever!
How about we start acting like the chosen people of God! Let's stop our judgments and our unforgiving and rude behavior. Let's stand for love, change and unity no matter what because even thought things around us look different... we still see the big picture cause our eyes are fixed and focused on The Eternal.
