Faith vs. Fear

This might be a shocker... but the opposite of faith isn't unbelief... but fear!  Think about this: faith is the steadfast conviction that something will happen... not because you have seen it before but because you unshakably believe it to be so.  Faith, on the other hand, is the steadfast belief that something will go wrong or will not work out!  In other word... fear is faith in the devil.
2 Timothy 1:7 "for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control."
To tell you the truth, God even gave the Joshua the command to not fear when he had to lead the Israelites.
Joshua 1:9 "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Note that God never asked Joshua to please try and not be afraid... He actually commanded him!
Now the question might be; how?  We face situations on a daily basis, things that might be frightening and even some threatening.  Elisha and his servant was facing a massive army... the young man feared but Elisha saw the solution to the problem.  He focused passed the crisis on the God that saves.
2 Kings 6:17 "Then Elisha prayed and said, “O Lord, please open his eyes that he may see.” So the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha."
When we look at the problem, it is bound to overwhelm us.  Let's keep our eyes on God and keep our peace.  Let us stay immovable and unshakable in Christ our Rock.
