Life of Love

1 John 4:17-18 MSG

God is love. When we take up permanent residence in a life of love, we live in God and God lives in us. This way, love has the run of the house, becomes at home and mature in us, so that we’re free of worry on Judgment Day—our standing in the world is identical with Christ’s. There is no room in love for fear. Well-formed love banishes fear. Since fear is crippling, a fearful life—fear of death, fear of judgment—is one not yet fully formed in love.

I Bring My Body Under Subjection.

Now we know that we have been made righteous by the love of Christ and that we are holy and sanctified.  We know that the Bible sate we are made perfect and that we are blameless in the sight of God.  We also know that life everlasting is our portion and that death has no hold... that nothing is impossible and that through God we have no limits.
Funny enough we read in 1 Corinthians 9 the following:

1 Corinthians 9:27 "But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified."

Now since we are all of the things Christ says we are... how can we disqualify ourselves.  What was the meaning behind this statement Paul made?  See God has set us free, but that still didn't give us the right to do as we please.
We are His image in the world and not only that but if we do not pick life in every choice we make... death is infecting us.

1 Corinthians 9:25-26 "Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. 26 So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air."

I saw a musical production on a twisted story about Alice in wonderland.  Now the cat  in this story has a shadow with its own mind.  The shadow would do whatever it pleased and was never in sync with the cat itself.  When the cat was thrown into jail... the shadow was still outside the prison bars and danced as usul... but she could not leave prison or go any further since she was only limited to the cats's surroundings.  This is the same with us.  God has set us free and there is no more limits so do not let your body or choices limit you.  Choose life always!

Never Ending

We live in a world where people only love you when you are successful or supportive but one mistake and it's easy to fall from their grace.  So have learned to settle for second best.  To be understanding when we messed up and people ignore us but also to ignore those who has caused us grief and hurt.  Note what Psalm 100 says.

Psalm 100:5 "For the Lord is good;his steadfast love endures forever,and his faithfulness to all generations."

It says that the Lord's love endures forever.  Now last time i checked forever is quite a long while.  There is no end to that  time period.

 Psalm 103:17 "But the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him,"

There is simply no boundary or limit to the love and grace God has for us.  It is an never ending source.  Never ending!

Romans 8:38-39 "For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Nothing that you will ever do will be able to make God love you less or have less grace on you.  God is not interested in how you messed up or where you missed it.  He chose you, not because you are perfect... but because He loves you and He wanted you!  Once we realize this we can stop fearing to fall short of His love because it has no limit or boundaries!

Looking at The Big Solution

We look around us and we see death, pain, hatred and an absolute lack of success.  Then we try and connect the scriptures with what we see in the world in order to keep our own sanity but even that causes more chaos and questions.

2 Corinthians 5:7 "for we walk by faith, not by sight."

This is a very well know scripture but do we really believe this.  It is one thing confessing that this is our lifestyle but it is another to live it out.

Matthew 14:28-30 "And Peter answered him, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.” 29 He said, “Come.” So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, “Lord, save me.”

Peter started walking on water... he was busy conquering the situation.  But he began to sink because he looked at the problem.  While he had his eyes fixed on Christ he saw the power and he had confidence... but the circumstances made him sink.  It is the same with us.  When a problem comes knocking at your door... do you look at the unseen, where God already gave a solution?   Or are you staring dead into the face of the problem?  See we must start looking with our spiritual eyes... where God is in control.  We don't live by what we see but by what we do not see.

Imagine the peace we will experience and the victory when we start looking to the Spirit instead of the natural.  Then, and then only, nothing will move us or shake us or make us tremble because we see the Great solution instead of the problem.

Hebrews 11:1 "Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen."

Keep in mind that we cannot say we have faith once we see something.  Faith is hoping and trusting for what you do not see yet.  It is waiting upon a solution with steadfast surety!  Let's take a stand in faith!

The time is now!

Proverbs 3: 27;Withhold not good from those to whom it is due [its rightful owners], when it is in the power of your hand to do it.28;Do not say to your neighbor, Go, and come again; and tomorrow I will give it--when you have it with you. . . YOU HAVE THE FULLNESS OF GOD HIMSELF TO HEAL THE SICK , THE KINGDOM IS AT HAND , THE TIME ISN'T TOMORROW , THE TIME IS NOW!!! BE COURAGEOUS AND WALK IN BOLDNESS OF FAITH AND HEAL THE SICK NOW !!! HIS FIRE NEVER SLEEPS !!

Our Time to Minister

We all know the story in Matthew 14 about the multiplication of bread and fishes... How Jesus fed five thousand people using a little boys' lunch.  We always look at the amazing miracle that took place that day, but there has to be more to the story.

Matthew 14:16 "But Jesus said, “They need not go away; you give them something to eat.”

Note that Jesus didn't just take the little they had and performed the miracle but he actually commanded His disciples to feed the crowd.  This is significant because by now Jesus already turned water into wine and He also performed a bunch of other miracles.  Now these followers of Jesus saw the signs and miracles day in and day out.  To them this might have become quite natural... like a normal day at the office.  The difference is however that now Jesus asks them to do, what they see as the impossible.  When they told Jesus that this cannot be done, Jesus commanded them to bring what they have.

Matthew 14:18 " And he said, “Bring them here to me.”

Now we know that Jesus took the bread, thanked the Father and the food multiplied... there was even left overs.  The crucial part of this story is that we are His children, His hands and feet.  It is up to us to start ministering to those around us.  The beauty of this all is that we don't even have to have much to complete this task because if we give all we have to God... that is just the right amount to accomplish the task He required of us.  When we give our all... God fills it up with Himself.

The Words We Speak

Genesis 1:3 "And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light."

This is probably one of the best known scriptures ever and it contains one of the biggest truths as well that we overlook so easily.  See right through Genesis and the whole creation story we find that God actually spoke everything into existence.  He said "let there be light" He said "let there be stars in the sky".  God made everything by speaking.  Throughout the Bible we even read how Jesus healed people by speaking.  Jesus said to the lame man "I forgive your sins" and the man was healed.  Jesus called to Lazarus and he rose from the dead.  We are underestimating the power of the words we use.

In our modern society we tend to only look at the words we use in the context of harming other people.  As Christians we are made aware of the words we use towards the people around us and how that may effect them.  What about the words we use over our own life?  We are quick to say that "I won't be able to make this or handle that", students walk into an examination hall and declare "I am failing today".  We are creating our own problems because we are speaking and declaring it over our lives.

James 3:2 "For we all stumble in many ways. And if anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle his whole body."

The book of James describes perfectly how the tongue can control our very lives and how important it is to get it in line with what God says.  If our words has creating power... imagine the difference it can make when we start to only speak life into our lives and into those around us!
