In His Image

1 Peter 4: 11 "whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ."
Genesis 1:27 "So God created man in his own image,in the image of God he created him;male and female he created them."
We have been created in the image of God and this is something we know all too well.  But it comes with great responsibility.  In the years when Alexander the great was ruler over the Greek people, there was a young man also with the name of Alexander in a small village.  He heard of all the mighty things that Alexander the great did and he had a desire to follow in his footsteps.  So this young man joined the military and on his first battle, when he was lined up with the other soldiers... he started panicking and his courage failed him.  Alexander ordered that he should be held captive until the battle is over.  After the battle Alexander the great wanted to know this young man's name whom he saw as a coward.  When he hear that his name was also Alexander,  he stooped down and replied: "Change your name, or change your attitude!"

We are made in His image.  It is time we act like it in our daily lives!  from walking, talking, acting to loving those around us. We are His representatives!

A Prayer for Fellow Brethren

O Father within us
Hallowed be Your Name
let life come
and death be done
as it is in Heaven.

Not many understand this Lord
and few of them recall
the sickness You took away from them
or the birth You gave them all.

The world might be to blame for this
or even the church and law
but whoever is to blame for this flaw
              -let them stand in awe.

Let Grace reel them in O Lord
let Love overthrow them
make known to them Your Peace O Lord
but most of all
make known to them your Heart

AMEN

Through His eyes!

We often look at our selves in the mirror and feel dissapionted and worth nothing.  We see hurt, imperfection, hate, bitterness, failure and disgust... because we look at ourselves with the eyes of the world.
God, however, has a different opinion about us!
1 Corinthians 1:30 "And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption, 31 so that, as it is written, “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.”
He loves us and sees us righteous and blameless through Christ.  You are His child and He picked you because He wanted you specifically!

1 Peter 3:1 "See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are."
It is time we start seeing the untapped potential and the perfection that Christ sees in us.  We are in the world and not of the world... therefore we should look with His eyes and not the world's.

For God so Loved...

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him, shall not perish but have eternal life"

FOR: because; there is a reason for what God has done- He GAVE His only Son. His reason, the love He had for the world. His love for the world-the people: us, was enough reason for Him to GIVE His Son so that we can have eternal life!
GOD: Creator of all things- things seen and unseen. Lord of lords and King of kings, Abba, I AM.. He loved US enough to GIVE His Son! He gave His Son: meaning that this was a choice He made, something He wanted to do because He LOVES us so much and want us to see eternal life!! God SO LOVED: this is a deep passionate love, a love of sacrifice, a love that is willing to give your Son up to suffering, to see your OWN become sin (sin that isn't even His own..but ours..) the kind of love that endures till the end of time! He loved the world..the people of the word, even though they were still OF the world; giving themselves to the temptation of the world, doing worldly works in order to do the law of God.. even though the people world gave in to worldly temptation, God didn't let us go! He gave His Son.. a free gift for our freedom! Now we have the free choice to believe in Him and choose free life!

Proverbs 31 Follow Up

Ladies, a few days ago we had a post on Proverbs 31... I consider this the follow up!

Her graceful hands worked diligently as the rest of her body was in a perfect state of peace. Her eyes where focused but a gentle smile tugged at the corners of her mouth.
She moved about gracefully, comfortable in her own skin and that was what people saw when they looked at her. She always seemed in perfect control-in perfect balance and harmony with everything around her. All the men wanted to be in her company, but they approached her in a gentle, respectful manner.. they couldn't behave in any other way towards her, for she demanded respect. Not in an aggressive manner, but rather in her calm way of talking, her kind nature and sensitiveness towards what others needed to hear or feel-acting according to this in her everyday interactions. She isn't beautiful in the worldly terms of beauty. But then again, the image created with cosmetics and image editing is an illusion-and people look for a something tangible.
This woman is beautiful to all who look upon her for the beauty that comes from within overrides the shell the outside world sees, making her a pleasure for the eyes! She is desirable to all men, for the price she has put on her body is high and she will not allow anything to lower that price. She has given her life to God and has committed to be a woman of God. She will be the mother of nations, taking care of and looking after those around her with broken wings. She has exchanged her earthly eyes for eyes that see what God sees. She has asked her hands and feet to be used to do Gods will and her heart- to be large enough to love all who comes her way. This woman is clothed in white after being washed clean of the crimson stains and stripped of all her sins. She is new because God has renewed her body, mind and soul! She will keep on giving Him praise for her new life! Indulging herself in doing the work of God! Drawing perfect, humble confidence from the Spirit. Receiving wisdom for each decision, each moment! This woman, being a woman of God, is the woman in each of us. The woman God has created us to be. The woman we must decide to become with each new day!  "And [so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength" Ephesians 1:19
